A native of Columbia, Croom attended the University of South Carolina, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science, later earning his law degree from the Charleston School of Law.

Croom has served as an Assistant Attorney General, during which time he handled all post-conviction relief cases for South Carolina’s Sixth and Twelfth Judicial Circuits, as well as a number of direct criminal appeals. While at the Attorney General’s Office, Croom conducted numerous evidentiary hearings in the South Carolina Circuit Courts and argued at the South Carolina Court of Appeals.

After leaving the Attorney General’s Office, Croom served as an Assistant Solicitor for the Sixth Circuit Solicitor’s Office in Winnsboro, prosecuting misdemeanors and felonies ranging from Domestic Violence to Murder. Croom participated in numerous jury trials as first and second chair and gained valuable experience in all aspects of litigating cases.

Immediately prior to joining Gaston, Marion, Stubbs, Hunter & Swancy P.A., Croom practiced with a well-known litigation firm in Columbia, where he represented plaintiffs and defendants, most often in the areas of construction law and professional malpractice.

Croom has also served on the Planning Commission and as the Zoning Administrator for the Town of Ridgeway, South Carolina.

Croom is married to the former Nicole Collins, of Ridgeway, and they live in rural Fairfield County with their two daughters and a growing number of pets. They attend Village Church in Blythewood. In his spare time, Croom enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his family.
